Janet D. Wolf, 55, of Peoria, passed away at 7:05 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2008, at home, with her family by her side.

Janet was born in Peoria on August 3, 1953, a daughter of Richard D. and Jennie C. (Browning) Wolf. They preceded her in death, along with two brothers, Richard and William Wolf.

She is survived by her son, Robert “R.J.” Marquardt of Peoria; daughters, Jennifer (Charles) Glass of Urbana and Tammy Prince of Peoria; granddaughters, Kristie Marquardt of Urbana and Krisdon Marquardt of Peoria; grandsons, Brandon Glass of Urbana and Ajay Marquardt of Peoria; brothers, Paul (Karen) Wolf of Rocky Mount, MO, Mike (Kathy) Wolf of Spring Bay and James (Dian) Wolf of Peoria; and sisters, LaVerne (Calvin) Herold of Las Cruces, NM, Marilyn Loftus of Peoria and Sandra (Mike) Cooper of Bellevue.

Janet was employed in Data Entry at OSF St. Francis Medical Center’s Central Supply Department for the past eight years. She was formerly employed with Morton Metalcraft and A & E Blueprinting in Peoria.

She enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, cooking, collecting cookie jars and Elvis memorabilia, being outdoors and spending time with her friends, family and grandchildren. She loved Country music, especially Elvis Presley and The Statler Brothers. Her favorite song was “A Little Less Conversation”, by Elvis.

Fishing was one of her greatest passions. She loved spending time with her family at home or at Elmer’s Pond. She always had a knack for catching a fish bigger than her sister, Nik (Sandy).

Janet was a great mother and grandmother. She raised three wonderful children that loved and adored her. Her grandchildren gave her the greatest enjoyment in life and she always loved attending their sporting events. She was always there for everyone and will be remembered as an independent, understanding and loving woman.

Memorial services will be at 4 p.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2008, at the Unity Church of Peoria at 3127 N. Avalon, with the Reverend Robert D. Lavy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at the church. Cremation rites have been accorded.

Immediately following services, everyone is invited to the lower level of the church for food and fellowship to continue celebrating Janet’s life.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Trust in Hope Foundation at 1209 Avon Avenue, Pekin, IL 61554.

Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Clary Funeral Home in Peoria.

Sandi (Nick) Sister September 29, 2008

My Sister

The phrase that comes to mind is "God made us sisters: our hearts made us best friends". I've never had a friend as close as we were. I will always treasure the many memories we shared. Our passion was fishing, we spent hours on the lake, we watched many sunrises and sunsets on the water. My sister was a unique person who never pretended to be someone she wasn't, if she had something to say, she said it, and I always admired this about her.

She didn't care what others did: it made no difference to her, unless it hurt someone she cared about. She stuck up for what she believed in. She was a very pround person.

I will miss her dearly, but I know

God needed a special angel for a good reason.

                         Love, Sandi

a loving family member Love to all who were blessed to know Janet D. Wolf September 29, 2008

Well no matter what name you were called we all knew we could count on you. Though there were times you seemed "crabby" and unapproachable you were truly a softie at heart. Well as much as you liked dressing as a witch I am sure now that you have your angel wings. God may let you "dress up" as a witch Oct. 31st your favorite day of the year. You were truly ONE OF A KIND and will live on in our hearts forever. Your presence will surely be missed by us all. Sure hope the family will start getting closer now, as we all should have been all along.  Because as they say life is much too short. Take care all and love one another as your Aunt, Sister, Friend, Grandma, Mom would. In loving memory of one terrific lady - God bless all

Aunt Peewee,

You were always nice to me. They all called you witch, but i could never understand why. I will never forget when I first got my license and I went with you and the girls somewhere and they begged you to let me drive us all to your house. Without hesitation you said "sure".  LOL  You will  live on in my memories. You are the BEST!! Love, Kandy Jane
